Bay BLAZE

About Us

We launched our program and began training for our inaugural outdoor track & field season during 2019. Our coaches have years of experience coaching at the youth and high school levels and are excited to bring the latest in speed development and training practices to the Bay County community. Coach Damion Dunlap is hurdle coaching specialist who is also a USA Track & Field Level 2 Certified and SafeSport Certified coach and is excited to train the next generation of athletes.

BAY BLAZE

2024 Summer Track & Field Season

Our youth track & field training and competition program is open to all athletes ages 5-18.  We high encourage competition however our program is open to both serious track and field athletes as well as families simply looking to get some exercise or get faster for another primary sport.

The Bay Blaze Track Club will begin our 4-week pre-season conditioning session on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 – 6pm on Tuesday February 20th.

Our regular season training session will kick off after spring break on Monday March 25th, 2024 when we will train each Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 5:30 – 7pm.  Training sessions will be held at Tommy Oliver Stadium (Bay High) or Bay Memorial Walking Park when the stadium is unavailable. We will also conduct regular Saturday morning practices when meets are not scheduled.

Registration fee for the season is $150 for the first child and $125 for each additional child.  This is an increase from prior seasons however we’ve decided to include the cost of the uniform singlet and AAU membership into the registration fee.  This change will ensure that all athletes have a current AAU membership and the included insurance coverage prior to training.  Including the uniform also avoids prior challenges where uniforms didn’t arrive prior to scheduled meets. The registration fee also includes a team T-shirt and access to facilities, club insurance, equipment and coaches for the season. All of our coaches are volunteers and are not paid but we do try to offset some of their travel costs and cover their registration and training costs. Competition meet fees which are typically about $30 (See Schedule) are the only additional fees. Registration will need to be completed and paid at least 48 hours prior to the athlete’s first practice and can be completed online at the link below.

We definitely don’t want costs to be a barrier for anyone so please reach out if you need support covering the fees and we can see what we can work out.  We do waive the registration costs of one child for each volunteer coach and other key volunteers (registrar, team manager, etc). Contact us for more information. We look forward to seeing you on the track!
